Dun & Bradstreet Numbers

What are they? And how do you find yours?

What is the Dun & Bradstreet Number?

In order to complete a Tier II report, companies are required to collect and record a wide variety of information. Inevitably, some information falls through the cracks, leaving EHS officials scrambling at the last minute to find some obscure data point or identification code by the time reporting season rolls around. The Dun & Bradstreet number is one of these critical pieces of information required in the Tier II report that often gets overlooked.

How do you find your Dun & Bradstreet Number?

A required data element for Tier II reporting, the Dun & Bradstreet number, also called the D&B or DUNS number, is a unique nine-digit identification code assigned to companies by the business information company Dun & Bradstreet. This identification code is company specific, meaning you will have a unique D&B number for your entire company. To access your D&B number, contact the financial officer of your facility. If they do not have access to the number, contact Dun & Bradstreet directly at 1-866-705-5711. You can also access the D&B number online at their website. If you do not already have a number, Dun & Bradstreet can set you up with one at the same address.

Completing Required Fields in the Tier II Report

To add your Dun & Bradstreet number to your facility profile in Encamp, navigate to Facilities, select your facility, and click on the Edit box. There’s a field for Dun & Bradstreet Number when you scroll down. If the field is populated with your number, it will transfer automatically to your Tier II report.
