Merging Products

Combine duplicate entries into one with the Merge Products feature.

When reviewing your Product Catalog on Encamp, you might notice some products appearing multiple times due to reporting inconsistencies. Encamp's Merge Products feature allows you to consolidate these multiple entries into a single one. This can help you maintain consistency in reporting across all your facilities and provides greater control over product management.

Merging products is an irreversible action. It will impact all associated Tier II reports where the merged product is listed across the organization.

Merging Products

Step 1: From the Product Catalog, select the checkboxes next to the products you want to merge.

Step 2: Click Merge Products.

Step 3: Choose which product's details you want to keep after the merge (the "winning" product).

TIP: Products you are merging often have similar names. It can be helpful to temporarily add an asterisk (*) or other symbol to the name of the "winning" product. This makes it easier to select from the Merge Products wizard.

Step 4: Click Next and then Yes, I’m sure.

Example

In this instance, we'll merge the products SULFURIC ACID with SULFURIC ACID*' (with an asterisk). We'll choose SULFURIC ACID* as the "winning" product.

After the merge, all instances of SULFURIC ACID in reports will now appear as SULFURIC ACID*. The product will carry over the details of SULFURIC ACID*.
